INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
TRANS-DICIPLINARY APPROACH TO HEALTH
IN INDIA
in collaboration with:
Department of Emergency Medicine, JPNATC,
Theme: Unity Of Knowledge: “One Health Many Sciences"
We are glad to post the First Announcement of the PGiCON – 2025

About the Theme:
Experience with all the systems of health in healing activities has shown that none of the health systems have answer to all health problems. Transdisciplinary Approach (TDA) to health envisages that all the healing systems have complimentary role in managing the human health. Therefore in order to provide healthcare in all its aspects the role of all the systems as the healing sciences cannot be undermined. Thus it is the need of the hour to venture beyond the disciplinary limitations and reach out to achieve holistic health. This calls for all the systems of healthcare to work together to create a transdisciplinary environment by acknowledging each other’s contributions to promote sustainable health.
About Pal Groups Of Institutions
The Pal Families of Haldwani have leading contribution to development in the Kumaun region of Uttarakhand since last three decades. Ever since they took over to be the top business group in this region, the head of the families, Late Sri Ramesh Pal, recognizing the most fundamental health-needs of people of this region, decided to take up the lead to establish Healthcare Facilities and Services.
With this prime goal the Pal Clinic was initiated at Haldwani, Uttarakhand in 2007, which had grown to public demand and consequently in 2009 Brij Lal Hospital & Research Centre (BLHRC) took its full form to be established as a Multi-speciality Hospital. Over a span of 16 years till today BLHRC serves on average 19 to 20 thousand patients per year, from all the districts of Kumaun Hills and some places of Garhwal region as well. The hospital extends its services in a few Satellite centres in this region, where people do not have easy access to the main hospital at Haldwani. BLHRC is the only hospital in Uttarakhand State with facilities for complex Trauma Surgery and Care. People from far away South Asian & South-East Asian countries approach this hospital for this specialized services.
In the course of time it was the most urgent felt need was that of professional healthcare personnel in this region. Also, the youth of the Kumaun districts needed gainful employment. This fundamental developmental need in healthcare and healthcare profession led to the formation of Pal College of Nursing & Medical Sciences (PCNMS) in 2011, as a Unit of BLHRC. Presently PCNMS, a premier institution in Uttarakhand, is managing SIX (6) Academic Programs in Undergraduate & Postgraduate Nursing, substantially contributing to the healthcare services of the people. To enhance quality management of the institution, PCNMS was brought under Brijlal Memorial Charitable Samiti in 2016.
From then on the Samiti has established a chain of healthcare professional institutions such as, Kaya Ayurvedic Hospital in 2021; Pal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2022; Kaya Ayurvedic Medical College & Research Centre in 2023 and Pal College of Paramedical Sciences in the year 2024. Currently about 1000 students are studying in various courses of Pal Group of Institutions (PGI).

Dr. Ashok Pal
Chairman,
Pal Group of Institutions
Architect of New Era in Health Care
Dr. Ashok Pal Ji, Chairman of Pal Group of Institutions (PGI) is a person of versatile qualities and a vision to improve society through education and healthcare. An Engineer by profession, his interest, optimistic attitude and inclination towards supporting standard academic advancement in any opted field, is commendable.
Realizing that the higher education facilities for the hill people of Kumaon region was very inadequate and they could not afford to go outside the State to study, he decided to start affordable educational institutions in healthcare professions.
After starting an institution for Nursing Education and successfully managing it to make it a ‘Point of Reference’, he embarked into establishing a chain of professional healthcare institutions such as, Kaya Ayurvedic Hospital in 2021; Pal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2022; Kaya Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital in 2023 and Pal College of Paramedical Sciences in the year 2024. Currently about 1000 students are studying in all these courses of Pal Group of Institutions (PGI).
Keeping in view the importance of developing healthcare competency in students and their need for post-study employment, Dr. Ashok Pal Ji has created extensive facilities for their multifaceted learning, in all the institutions. His belief in overall personality development of the students, along with building their attitude towards Indian values, has prompted him to provide resources for co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, and exposure to realistic life situations.
His focus on Preventive Health distinguishes him as a Holistic Healthcare Administrator. In this regard, his encouragement and support for organizing feasible Outreach Programs in the surrounding rural areas and Haldwani local vicinities have brought significantly positive results in people’s level of Health Awareness.
His youthful enthusiasm for new ventures is inspiring. Along with that his risk-taking behavior is quite irresistible. As a leader he emanates positive energy which makes us accept challenges willingly and work together with him, as a cohesive team.
Whatever project he desires to take up, he drives all involved towards excellence in performance, by hard work. His insights – though sometime appear to be impossible dreams, often get realized proving his strong conviction and confidence on himself and providence. The concepts of ‘Law Of Attraction’ by William Walker Atkinson are enliven in his ideas, ideals and enterprises.
As a person, Dr. Ashok Pal is very humane, empathetic, adventurous and pragmatic in his outlooks, which are the essential characteristics of an ideal LEADER.
